Welcome to the Amazon page, here we give you information on the Amazon.co.uk web site. Amazon are one of the most popular web sites in the world and have a dedicated UK web site, they offer a huge and ever increasing amount of products including DVD's, CD's, books, home and garden products, electronics, toys, health and beauty products and lots more.
The Amazon web site is very well laid out, each product category has it's own section with several detailed pages for that product. The home page of each category has some great information, it will list the top 20 products by sales and will also list the latest products, this will make it very easy to find popular products. If you wish to browse all of the products in a category then there is a menu that has all of the main sub-categories, you simply click on the one you require and then select the further options that you would like to view until you get to the page which has the products. The pages with the products is ordered by popularity by default but you can also list them alphabetically or by price, they also feature a photo (for the top ten products) and also have the name, description and price. Amazon also have an excellent search facility, you can search the whole web site or you can search specific categories making it easier to find certain types of products, it's also a great way to find a single product if you know it's name.
The Amazon delivery service is very good, especially considering that they offer such low prices. When you spend over a certain amount (this seems to vary) you will be entitled to free delivery but you have to make sure you choose that at the checkout, you can also choose whether you would prefer your products to be dispatched separately when they are available or have your whole order ship together when it is all available, this is cheaper but can mean waiting a long time if a product is not available or has not yet been released. The ordering system at Amazon is also top class, once you have registered with them you can use their 'One Click' ordering system which basically means if you are viewing a product you can just click one button and that's it, Amazon will use your account details such as address and payment information to process your order making shopping very easy indeed. You can also use One Click when you have multiple items, you simply go to your shopping cart and then click the One Click button, all of your products are then ordered and you can even add more products in the next hour simply by using One Click again.
Amazon have an excellent selection of music, they sell the latest chart CD's and also offer a huge selection of other music. Again the home page for the music has the top 20 selling CD's and also has a selection of new and future releases that they think will be popular, Amazon also do this very clever thing where they recommend products to you based on your past purchases. So for example if you have purchased quite a few classical CD's then they will probably offer you some other popular classical titles. The great thing about purchasing CD's from the Amazon web site is the prices, the majority of the single disc chart albums are under £9 and they also have lots of titles on special offer.
The Amazon DVD section is brilliant, on the home page you have a listing of the top selling DVD's and also a selection of the recently released and soon to be released DVD's. If you are a big DVD fan then you will like the What's New section, here there is a list of the next few weeks with the top 5 DVD's that are going to be released in that week. If you click on the link for that week you can view all of the DVD's that are to be released in that week which are ordered by popularity. Amazon offer some great prices on DVD's, even the new releases are usually about 20% cheaper than the RRP, they also have some great special offers where you can often get DVD bargains for well under half price. There are also other options for buying DVD's which include buying second hand DVD's and also renting DVD's, this involves paying a monthly fee to rent DVD's.
The books section of the amazon web site is comprehensive. They have a huge selection of titles which are categorised into relevant categories which can be found in the menu on the left hand side of the page, on the right of the page they have the list of the top selling books and in the middle of the page they have new and future releases plus a selection of recommendations if any apply. Amazon also offer great value for money on books, most books are typically 25% lower than the RRP and they also offer regular special offers which can produce some real bargains so are worth a look.
